The Position

As a Civil Engineering Inspector, you will be an integral part of ensuring the successful execution of construction projects. You will be the ‘eyes and ears’ on-site, collaborating with contractors, clients, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the field, solving problems, and contributing to the success of infrastructure projects in our community.

Compensation

• Competitive salary based on experience, ranging from $60,000 to $90,000 annually.
  

• Business mileage between job sites will be reimbursed.

• Eligible Benefits include extended health care insurance, dental and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance with design specifications, technical standards, and safety regulations.

• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports and maintain accurate records of project progress and quantities.

• Support contract administration, including reviewing payment certificates and assisting with site issue resolutions.

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and public agencies to ensure clear communication and smooth project execution.

• Prepare redline as-built drawings and contribute to project documentation.

• Promote adherence to construction safety protocols and uphold corporate quality standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent minimum 3 years of experience in an equivalent role.

• Valid BC driver’s license.

• Familiarity with Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD) and municipal, transportation, construction methods.

• Ability to walk and work across large construction sites.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with AutoCAD is an asset.

• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
