The Position
As a Civil Engineering Technologist and Inspector at On Point Project Engineers, you will play a key role in supporting our engineering projects by providing technical expertise, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards. You will work closely with our engineering team to deliver high-quality outcomes for municipal, transportation, and land use projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct field inspections to ensure construction and installation meet project specifications, codes and regulations.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications and reports.
• Prepare daily site inspection reports and communicate professionally with the project team stakeholders and trade contractors.
• Assist in the design and analysis of civil engineering projects.
• Assist in or lead the administration of construction contracts such as MMCD, CCDC or others.
• Track daily quantities and prepare monthly payment certificates.
• Report on and assist with the resolution of construction issues.
• Attend and chair site meetings, record and circulate meeting minutes.
• Prepare accurate redline record drawings throughout construction.
• Follow and promote corporate and regulatory construction safety procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Solid background in construction contracts such as the Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD) or CCDC.
• Proven experience in civil engineering inspections and project support
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools. Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Civil 3d etc.
• Familiarity with WorkSafe BC regulations and a commitment to adopting and promoting a culture of safe work practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.
