The Position

One Journeyman Carpenter for full-time employment. In this position, you will hold the role of Carpenter / Assistant Superintendent for small to medium-sized projects and assist the Site Superintendent for select large projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Site Superintendent with managing work on site to ensure construction adheres to all drawings and specifications; planning and implementing schedules and inspections; and determining manpower, material quantities, and equipment.
  • Support the Site Superintendent in the capacity of Assistant Superintendent on select larger projects.
  • All aspects of carpentry involving wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Forming and foundation preparation
  • Understanding of BC Building Codes and how to interpret and follow prescriptive specifications

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Red Seal Carpenter from an accredited college, university, or trade school
  • Must have a valid BC driver’s license
  • Must have own tools / hand tools
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift minimum of 50lbs, as well as be capable of bending, crouching, kneeling and working in confined spaces or in dusty and noisy conditions
