The Position
We are seeking a motivated Intermediate / Senior Civil Technologist to join our growing team in either Nanaimo or Victoria. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills within a collaborative and supportive environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals on the design, analysis, and implementation of infrastructure projects.
Compensation

Salary: Competitive, based on experience, ranging from $70,000 to $100,000 annually.

Reimbursement: Business mileage between job sites will be reimbursed.
Key Responsibilities

Design & Drafting: Assist in the design and development of civil engineering projects, including earthworks, grading, roads, drainage systems, and utilities, using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other software.

Technical Documentation: Prepare design briefs, reports, specifications, calculations, and regulatory submissions for clients and authorities.

Project Coordination: Oversee schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure tasks and milestones are achieved on time and within scope.

Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure projects adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations, maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

Contract Administration: Prepare and manage MMCD and CCDC contract documents, oversee contract execution, and perform inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.

Site Work: Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and data collection to support project planning and execution.

Mentorship & Leadership: Guide junior technologists, supporting their technical development and professional growth.

Practice Management: Maintain a thorough understanding of On Point’s Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP) and align project activities with organizational standards.
Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Certification: Eligible or current registration with ASTTBC as a technologist or EGBC.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in municipal, transportation, or land development engineering.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office. Strong understanding of engineering principles related to municipal, transportation, or land development.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills for preparing reports and collaborating with clients and stakeholders.

Work Ethic: Self-motivated, able to manage competing priorities, and work effectively in a team.

Other: Valid BC driver’s license.
